Hello lovely ladies. Today I wanted to talk about things you can do to make your Brazilian Butt Lift recovery go a little bit smoother. Please understand that recovery is never easy, and sometimes healing can be messy. My biggest suggestion is to prepare beforehand! Your recovery from cosmetic surgery will last several weeks, and even months. There will be different stages, with different milestones along the way. Because you will experience discomfort and pain, I suggest getting a few items before your surgery, so you will not have to worry about them afterwards. A little preparation before your procedure will make your life, and also those close to you, much easier, and you can focus on you!

  1. Antiseptic Skin Cleanser

You may have drains and/or incisions on your body, and you want to keep them clean and free of germs, so you do not risk infection. The last thing you want is an infection that requires you seeing your surgeon again, especially if you travelled away from home for your procedure…or God forbid you have to visit the ER. No infections! I suggest Hibiclens, which you can get at Amazon. Hibiclens is an antiseptic and antimicrobial skin cleanser that is used in hospitals, and will help reduce any cross infection from happening. I keep a 8 oz bottle in my shower, because it’s helped me in the past with infected hairs and boils that have developed in my personal areas. I trust the product, and my clients have had success as well with acne and other skin issues. It’s something simple you can do to make sure your recovery goes well.

  1.  BBL Pillow

Of all the suggestions I’m making today, this is the most important one. You will not be able to put any pressure on your buttocks for several weeks after your BBL. While you may not be able to sit directly on your butt, a BBL pillow will allow you rest while taking the pressure off your butt, and puts the pressure more on your thighs. Please resist the urge to sit on your butt, as you do not want you to compromise your results. A good after care program will ensure you get the results you want.   1.  Lavender Essential Oil

At first glance, I know that essential oil doesn’t seem like a necessary part of a post-surgical recovery program. Trust me, it is. During your discomfort and swelling, there will be times when you doubt your decision to get plastic surgery. I’ve heard it many times. Lavender has relaxing properties and will help to put you at ease, and will slow down your nervous system. Additionally, the act of taking a deep breath by itself is calming and also very beneficial to your lymphatic system. I use lavender in my lymphatic drainage sessions, by placing a few drops on your head rest, and also in my hands. Taking deep abdominal breaths is also used to encourage your lymphatics to get moving. My hope is that you’ll be able to use lavender long after your recovery is done.   1. Schedule your lymphatic massages ahead of time

I’m always impressed when people schedule their sessions ahead of time. It shows me that they care about their well-being. Don’t you want to find the therapist and facility that is a good fit for you? You’ll be seeing the therapist you select once or twice a week for about a month or more. Their level of expertise will have a huge impact on the results you get from your surgery. Do your research, and do it ahead of time. Don’t you want to feel you made the right decision? Another reason for doing this ahead of time is that sometimes lymphatic drainage therapists are booked for weeks at a time. Set up your appointments ahead of time so that you are certain you’ll have your appointments exactly when you’ll need them. The last thing you want is to undergo surgery, go home and swell up, and not be able to find a qualified therapist to help you get to where you want to be.
